WHO WE ARE

Founder, Principal Advisor
Robb Wong has over 30 years of experience in all phases of the small business federal life cycle, both as a small business owner himself and as a government leader. He is a uniquely qualified expert on the laws governing small business contracts because he wrote them back in 1990 and wrote more 20 years later.
After graduating from Georgetown University Law School (he’s a Hoya Lawya), Robb accepted an offer from the Small Business Administration (SBA) to serve as counsel to its 8(a) Business Development program — the federal contracting and training program for socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses. He was tasked with writing the eligibility rules for 8(a) in 1990 that are still in force today.
Robb then served as Acting Director in 2 SBA District offices before entering the private sector for the next 20 years. Many 8(a) and HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zones) companies flourished and grew under his leadership as or acting as CEO, other C-level executive, owner, board member, or advisor. Some he even sold when it was time.
In 2017, Robb returned to the SBA as Associate Administrator in the Office of Government Contracting & Business Development (GCBD). He accepted this appointment by the White House because of his belief that “small businesses are government’s best option to achieve agency missions!” Using his own experience in the private sector and listening to other small business owners grapple with compliance, he wrote new regulations that improved protections for small businesses and increased usefulness of federal certifications. His work with Congress, the White House, the Department of Defense (DOD), and civilian and industry leaders grew the industry by more than 34% — the largest growth in history.
Now back with FedSolve, Robb remains committed to his belief in small businesses and continues to be an active leader, advocate and advisor in the government contracting industry today.
